Looking at the safety side: Mercedes Benz ESF 2009

This year, Mercedes presents the radical ESF 2009, its first dedicated experimental safety car since 1974. Based on the new Mercedes S400 Hybrid sedan (on sale now in Europe; coming soon to American showrooms), the ESF 2009 packs a dizzying array of occupant-protection gizmos designed not only to allow occupants walk away from a crash, but to help them avoid one in the first place.

Air-bag technology figures prominently in the Mercedes ESF 2009. The car has plenty of inflatable parts—in the usual locations, of course, but also in places you might not expect. There’s a curtain air bag that drops down between the seats to prevent occupants from knocking heads during a side impact and air bags on the seatbelts that more evenly distribute deceleration force across the wearer’s chest. The Mercedes ESF 2009 also utilizes the truly newfangled “braking bag”—an air bag mounted beneath the front end of car—that inflates when a frontal collision is inevitable, slowing the car by increasing friction with the ground and keeping the front end from
diving during hard braking and possibly plowing underneath the rear end of a larger vehicle. And beneath its familiar S-class skin, the ESF features a series of “folded” internal metal structures that (like an air mattress, says Mercedes) inflate with an enormous and instantaneous charge of pressurized gas, providing additional structural stability during a collision.

On the crash-avoidance front, the Mercedes ESF 2009 boasts a rear-seat camera that feeds to a dash-mounted display, to monitor kids’ doings without having to glance over your shoulder; tire sidewalls are made of highly reflective material for better nighttime visibility; and headlamps that incorporate a “spotlight” function that (with the car’s thermal-imaging Night View system) identifies and shines a beam of light at potential hazards on or just off the road—like a wayward deer or a pedestrian. And because it takes a village, a clever two-way radio system allows the ESF instantly to relay pertinent data about road conditions—an icy patch, for instance, as detected by its antilock braking system—to other cars on the road, allowing drivers behind to slow down, change lanes, or take some other evasive action.

Doubtless, a few of these new-age safety features (there are more than a dozen) are destined to be recalled as little more than concept-car flights of fancy. But if Mercedes-Benz history is a guide, much of the Mercedes ESF 2009’s advanced thinking will land in a production vehicle before long. And for somebody—maybe even you—that could be a lifesaver.

In Summary

The Mercedes-Benz ESF 2009 essentially features 5 key new safety elements which are the following:

* PRE-SAFE Structure –
The inflatable metal structures save weight or increase the stability of structural components. When at rest, the metal section is in a folded state to save space. If its protective effect is required, a gas generator builds up an internal pressure of 10 to 20 bar within fractions of a second, causing the section to unfold for significantly more stability.

* Braking Bag –
If the car’s sensor system concludes that an impact is unavoidable, the Braking Bag located under the car is deployed shortly before the crash and stabilises the car on the road surface by means of a friction coating. The vehicle’s vertical acceleration increases the friction, and helps to decelerate the vehicle before the impact occurs.

* Interactive Vehicle Communication –
The Mercedes ESF 2009 is able to communicate directly with other vehicles, or via relay stations. Using “ad hoc” networks and Wi-Fi radio technology, it is e.g. able to receive and transmit warnings of bad weather or obstacles in the road.

* PRE-SAFE Pulse –
It reduces the forces acting on the torsos of the occupants during a lateral collision by around one third. It does this by moving them towards the center of the vehicle by up to 50mm as a precautionary measure. As an active restraint system, it uses the air chambers in the side bolsters of the seat backrests.

* Spotlight lighting function –
This partial LED main beam specifically illuminates potential hazards. If the infrared camera of Night View Assist PLUS e.g. detects animals like deer at the roadside or pedestrians on the road, these can be briefly illuminated beyond the normal area covered by the main beams, as if by a spotlight.

Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4

Take a peek at:
Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4

To maximize the excitement of driving the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4, follow these simple steps: Press the button that engages the Corsa (racing) mode; disable the traction and stability controls; remove your foot from the brake; and then stomp on the gas pedal. Initiating this launch function, however, is by no means essential to the enjoyment of piloting this grown-up baby bull.

Compared with the original Gallardo, the LP 560-4 is 44 pounds lighter, accelerates faster on its way to a top speed of more than 200 mph, shifts more quickly, and steers more accurately. The car also brakes harder when equipped with optional carbon-ceramic brakes. But like the old Gallardo, the LP 560-4 is remarkably easy to drive.

Visually, the new Gallardo distinguishes itself only subtly, with larger air intakes, a slightly redesigned front fascia, and a revised rump. The "LP" in the name proclaims the vehicle’s longitudinal, posterior-mounted 5.2-?liter direct-injection engine, which has 10 cylinders and produces 552 hp and nearly 400 ft lbs of torque. (The 560 in the name denotes the European horsepower rating, and the 4 refers to the car’s permanent four-wheel-drive system.)

The Gallardo LP 560-4 is quicker than the Ferrari F430 and nearly as quick as Lamborghini’s bigger, heavier, V-12-powered Murciélago. The 6-speed automated manual transmission (a traditional manual transmission is also available) shifts with startling speed, and in Corsa mode it engages with a satisfying thump.

Design and Interior

Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 CarNothing less can be expected from a Lamborghini, in terms of design and styling. Ditto applies to the all-new Gallardo LP560-4 coupe. The car is characterized by standard 19-inch wheels. The sparkling bi-xenon headlights adorn the front end of the car; while in the rear, it is the automatically extending spoiler and stylish tail lights cluster that add to the overall appeal of the vehicle. Talking about the interiors, Gallardo LP560-4 is as spacious and plush as its predecessor is. Power seats with plush leather upholstery provide the feeling of grandeur to the passengers in the cabin. Riding on the two-seater coupe can be an entertaining experience, with four-speaker powerful stereo music system.

Engine

Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4Under the hood of Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 lies a powerful mid-mounted 5.0-liter V10 engine that is designed to deliver an amazing power of 560 hp at 8000 rpm, with a commendable peak torque of 540 Nm at 6500 rpm. The car promises to be environmental friendly, with improvement in the fuel consumption. The engine is equipped with FSI direct injection system. The six-speed manual transmission is standard in the car, while the automated six-speed sequential-shift manual transmission known as e-gear is optional.

Safety

When it comes to safety, Lamborghini ensures that the passengers of its car are given complete safety. The standard safety measures adopted for the car include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), which prevents the locking of wheels on wet surfaces. Stability control provides the driver the ability to acquire good control over the vehicle at all the given conditions. Side airbags provide extra protection to the passengers in case of accidents.

The Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG

Some amazing fact on the OLD-MAN's car: the SLK 55 AMG

People tends to relate Mercedes-Benz with the old-man (bulky, slow, and etc...), well read-on...

The SLK 55 AMG is now even more dynamic: a new front apron and dark-tinted headlamps give this unique eight-cylinder roadster an even more athletic look even at a standstill. The handling dynamics of the SLK 55 AMG have also been sharpened. For the first time the car features the new direct steering with variable servo assistance, which makes the 360-bhp two-seater even more agile and responsive. The SLK 55 AMG is also the only car in its class to feature a V8 engine, while the improved AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC transmission now offers even faster gearchanges.

The appearance of the sporty roadster now reinforces the car's claim to special status even more emphatically. The redesigned front apron with a more pronounced arrow-shape, the modified Mercedes star, enlarged air dams and a black-painted transverse fin on the lower section ensure a distinctly masculine aura. Large, round foglamps with chrome surrounds are now positioned further outwards, enhancing the impression of width. The hot air from the integral engine oil cooler is vented via side outlets in the front apron. The specific AMG bodystyling also includes AMG side skirts, the muscular AMG rear apron with a black insert and the AMG spoiler lip.

AMG Eight-cylinder Engine

The striking bonnet with its characteristic longitudinal fins conceals the 5.5-liter AMG eight-cylinder engine, which has an output of 360 bhp and develops 376 lb-ft of torque - figures which remain unrivalled in this segment. Enormous torque, immediate responsiveness and the typical AMG V8 sound characterize the driving experience, together with outstanding performance: the two-seater accelerates from zero to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds, reaches the 124 mph mark in 17.5 seconds and has a top speed (electronically limited) of 155 mph. Power is transferred by the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC transmission with steering wheel gearshift paddles, which now ensures even greater agility: gearchanges in the "S" (Sport) and "M" (Manual) driving modes are around ten percent faster than before. This is not only thanks to the new components in the seven-speed automatic transmission, but also to the new engine and transmission management, which also ensures that the gearshifts are smoother.

Functional Interior

In the functional and sporty interior of the SLK 55 AMG, the new AMG ergonomic sports steering wheel with its three-spoke design gives a visual hint of the direct steering feature. The grip area is specially shaped and lined with perforated leather, while the vertical spoke is embellished by a silver-colored insert. Two aluminum AMG shift paddles allow manual gear selection.

The AMG instrument cluster, silver/red needles and AMG lettering also has a new look, and the new graphics ensure that vehicle speed and rpm are even more easily legible. In "M" mode, the AMG main menu is able to display the currently selected gear including an upshift recommendation, as well as the engine oil temperature, the battery voltage or the RACETIMER. The AMG sports seats with their special upholstery layout feature pronounced side bolsters for improved lateral support when cornering at speed; Alcantara inserts in the shoulder areas improve this lateral support even further. Fine nappa leather upholstery is part of the standard appointments of the SLK 55 AMG. It is available in a choice of four attractive colours, with a stylish combination of black/gullwing red as a new entrant to the range.

Performance Package

The AMG performance package is available for the SLK 55 AMG on request. This package developed by the AMG PERFORMANCE STUDIO incorporates even higher-performance components. The result is an ultra-exciting driving experience for sports car enthusiasts who sometimes like to put their AMG model through its paces on the racetrack.

BMW 7 Series - Travel in style, comfort and highly secured

BMW 7 Series - What is high security series mean?

New generation of up-armored BMW 7 Series High Security announced
by John Matras

You’re not really important until someone wants to kill you. And that, plus a desire to travel in a certain level of style and comfort, is the reason for the latest editions of BMW high-security 7-series sedans, appropriately enough named BMW 7 Series High Security.

While a quick internet search will result in a sizeable list of automotive armor upfitters, only Mercedes-Benz and Audi also produced ballistic and explosion resistant automobiles in-house. The newest are the BMW 7 Series High Security models, the BMW 750Li and BMW 760Li, both the longer wheelbase version of the 7-series sedans, with BMW’s new twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 and newly developed V-12 respectively.

BMW claims that the 7 Series High Security models are the first in the world to meet BRV 2009 certification and new ballistic protection level VR7. If you really understand what’s entailed in those standards, you’re in a different occupation than we are. It’s sufficient to say that the armor stops some rather heavy hardware.

To do that the 7 Series High Security models receive vehicle-specific armor plating made from special steel. Armor is provided in all directions, naturally, including the doors, roof, roof pillars, front footwell and the divider between the trunk and passenger compartment. The specially-produced steel plates accurately match the body contours of the 7 Series. Door cut and body joint lines are also safely sealed. Considering the world we live in, special attention was given to making the floor explosion resistant.

The windows are new, multi-layer laminated glass 2.4-inches thick with a polycarbonate layer on the inside to prevent shattered glass from penetrating the interior.

This all adds weight, of course, but an advantage of in-house development is modifying the suspension for the extra poundage. BMW reinforces the suspension links, shocks and suspension strut top mountings and calibrates the suspension to provide BMW-like handling despite the added mass. BMW’s Dynamic Damping Control is also standard, allowing the shocks to adjust to different road surfaces.

The BMW 760Li High Security’s V-12 produces 544 hp and, importantly considering the weight, 553 lb-ft of torque at 1500 rpm. With BMW’s new 8-speed automatic transmission, the BMW 760Li can get to 62 mph in 6.2 seconds, according to BMW. Professor Newton would be impressed, no doubt, by getting this object from rest to motion quite so quickly.

The BMW 750Li’s 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8, however, with a mere 407 horsepower and six-speed automatic takes 7.9 seconds for the same task.

BMW has also provided the 7 Series High Security models with upgraded high-performance brakes. Once again, what Professor Newton said about bodies in motion applies particularly to heavy armor-plated objects in motion. Run-flat tires have a separate tire pressure sensing system and special temperature sensors.

If you really want to impress us, however, you’ll go for the options. There’s the ever-popular assault alarm. Or you can talk to us without rolling down those thick windows via an intercom system with concealed microphones and speakers. You can also have under-hood and under-body fire extinguishers.

You can stop gas attacks with an automatic sensing system that closes all windows, activates central locking, closes off fresh-air ventilation and activates as needed a fresh air supply for breathable air inside the car.

And if you have the proper credentials, BMW will provide for everything from flag holders to a center console with compartments for a pair of machine guns.

Of course, one doesn’t shop for a BMW 7 Series High Security model at the corner Bimmer store. BMW provides “discrete consultancy and personalized sales and service support all over the world.” Delivered, no doubt, in a plain brown wrapper. High Security models are also serviced by certified garages only. Again, your corner BMW store loses out again.

This typically isn’t an “owner-operator” vehicle, but BMW will provide specialized driver training for its security vehicles. The men-in-black with dark glasses and ear-speakers, however, are your responsibility.

Impressive as that is, however, remember that because you are important, people may want to kill you. But just because people want to kill you doesn’t mean you’re particularly important. Maybe you just need to change your address.

Just the same, we’re rather glad that we’re not important enough to require a BMW 7 Series High Security. Thanks, but we’d rather be able to spend our disposable income on something from BMW with “M” in its name.

Take a look at Lotus Evora

Fact about Evora

An in-depth look at Lotus Upcoming Evora Sports Car by Aaron Gold

The 2010 Evora is an all-new six-cylinder sports car from Lotus.

Lotus is a British automaker famous for achieving high performance through light weight. (Founder Colin Chapman's motto: "Weight is the enemy of performance.") That said, with a Toyota-sourced V6 engine and an estimated curb weight of 2,976 lbs -- only 100 lbs more than an automatic Honda Civic, but almost a half-ton more than Lotus' Elise and Exige -- the Evora is a Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham by Lotus standards. Though Lotus' cars are typically small and cramped, Lotus says the Evora will be able to accommodate two 6'5" adults. Styling is another Evora strong point, with smooth, flowing lines that stand in stark contrast to the form-over-function look of the current Exige and Elise. Production of the 2010 Evora will be limited to 2,000 cars, 700 to 800 of which will come to the United States. Future plans for the Evora include a convertible version and -- Lotus fans, you'd better sit down for this one -- an optional automatic transmission.

WHAT DOES THE LOTUS EVORA COMPETE AGAINST?

The Evora is aimed at the two-seat Porsche Cayman, though its lower price and promised performance make it an attractive alternative to the Porsche 911. As an "image" car, the Evora could take on more expensive brands like Aston-Martin.

2010 LOTUS EVORA DETAILS AND SPECS

  • Body style: 2- or 4-seat mid-engine sports coupe; convertible planned for future release
  • Engine: Toyota-sourced 3.5 liter V6, 276 hp @ 6400 RPM, 252 lb-ft @ 4700 RPM
  • Transmissions: 6-speed manual; automatic planned for future models
  • Layout: Mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive
  • Performance: 0-60 in approximately 5 seconds, top speed 160 MPH
  • Fuel economy: 19 MPG urban, 36 MPG extra-urban, 27 MPG combined (European cycle)
  • Major standard equipment: Leather-lined Recaro bucket seats, air conditioning, CD/MP3 player

Porsche Cayman Coupe better than 911

Full review on Porsche Cayman Coupe

  • Performance

    5 out of 5 stars

Both the 2.9-litre Cayman and 3.4-litre Cayman S models have six-cylinder engines that thrive on revs. Each hurtles rapidly forward at higher revs, but the extra 55bhp in the S gives useful extra thrust. Both models are available with a smooth, quick-changing seven-speed PDK semi-auto gearbox as an option. Offering the best of both worlds, the PDK 'box actually increases performance while reducing C02 emissions and fuel consumption.

    Review-OnRoad
  • Ride & Handling

    5 out of 5 stars

The Cayman is based on the mid-engined Boxster roadster and its fixed roof mean extra rigidity and an even sharper drive. Phenomenal grip and agility means twisty roads can be covered with breathtaking speed and accuracy, while the steering gives a near-perfect blend of sensitivity and feel. We'd recommend the PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) option, which trades the standard firm suspension for an adjustable system that gives a more supple ride, but taut body control.

    Review-OnRoad
  • Refinement

    4 out of 5 stars

You don’t expect sports cars to be quiet, but nor do you want to be sitting in the middle of a din. With the Cayman you’re not. The engine's guttural low-rev snarl and higher-speed metallic thrash never disappear, but you probably wouldn’t want them to, and wind noise is rarely apparent. The optional 19-inch wheels are too noisy on coarse surfaces, though.

Check out - Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

Some facts about Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

(Press Release) – Mar 27, 2009 – More fuel efficient, more power and with better acceleration than the previous generation, the new Shelby Mustang has been refined and improved to enhance the performance of this iconic car, taking many of the improvements from the development of the Shelby GT500KR.

The supercharged dual overhead camshaft engine now develops 540 bhp and 510 lb ft torque, more than the previous generation car’s figures of 500 and 480. The aluminium power dome hood not only enhances the appearance of the car it aids the engine cooling. The car also features a conical air filter in place of the more traditional flat-panel system, allowing for more cool air to be forced into the engine again increasing the power and efficiency of the engine.

The clutch has also been upgraded to a twin-disc system, greatly improving the driveability of the car. The first 4 gear ratios stay the same but the 5th and 6th gears are changed to improve the fuel efficiency by further lowering the rev’s. New 19” wheels are featured on the coupe with Goodyear F1 super car tyres and together with optimised dampers the car is now a lot more competent on handling with better roll control with more body control through cornering.

The interior of the car has also had a significant upgrade with genuine leather used all round for the upholstery and real aluminium on the instrument panel giving the car a more “up-market” feel.

Comments related

Exterior Styling

It is evident from several 2009 Ford Mustang reviews that experts agree on the styling of the pony car. While the 2009 Ford Mustang coupe exudes coolness in exterior styling the 2009 Ford Mustang Shelby versions are more aggressive typical of a muscle car. Ford offers plenty of styling options for both Mustang coupe and convertibles available in four trims - V6 Deluxe, V6 Premium, GT Deluxe and GT Premium. The Ford Mustang convertibles feature a power vinyl top.

The Mustang Shelby editions are more robust now with a fortified chassis. The front sway bar’s diameter of the 2010 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 coupe and convertibles is reduced increasing spring stiffness to allow quicker turn-in on the outward tire.

Interior Comfort

Both the 2009 Ford Mustang coupe and convertible can accommodate four people along with enough storage at the rear cargo. Even though its charcoal black leather seating and aluminum dashboard looks sophisticated the appeal is reduced by excessive use of hard plastic inside the car. The same is applicable for the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 coupe and convertibles except the bold red seams and side bolstering on the seats.

The comfort features in Ford Mustang V6 Deluxe includes keyless access, cruise control, air-conditioning, full power accessories, a CD player with an additional audio port. The V6 Premium comes with a power driver seat, a Shaker 500 stereo with six-CD changer.

As for Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 convertible and coupe, Deluxe trims feature 18-inch alloy wheels, a front air splitter, a rear spoiler, fog-lamps, cruise control, navigation system, heat extractors, air-conditioning and power driver seat while the Premium edition comes with an additional sport bucket seats with Cobra logos and a Shaker 500 stereo with CD-changer and satellite radio.

Power and Performance

All versions of Ford Mustang are rear-wheel-drive. The 2009 Ford Mustang is equipped with a standard five-speed manual transmission with five-speed automatic as an option. The pony car uses a 4.0L 210Hp V6 producing 240lb-ft of torque.

On the other hand, the 2009 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is powered by a 4.6L 300Hp V8 that produces the required thrust to acquire 0 to 60mph in 5.7 seconds. But for Mustang Shelby GT500 a Tremec six-speed manual transmission is the only choice. The Ford muscle cars have 19mpg and 18mpg combined fuel economy respectively.

Safety Features

The 2009 Ford Mustang has four-wheel disc brakes and front-seat side airbags as standard safety features with optional ABS and traction control. The Shelby GT500 features Brembo brakes with ABS and traction control as standard.

Despite absence of electronic stability control all Ford Mustang models have passed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration crash tests with five stars for front and side impact protection for front seat passenger. The 2009 Ford Mustang Convertible achieved a five star rating in rear side protection as well.

From the 2009 Ford Mustang Shelby reviews one point is clear that competitors like the BMW 128i, Nissan 350Z and Mazda RX-8 are ahead of Ford Mustang in interior styling and handling. This year in 2009, Mustang’s competitors’ line up adds a new contender – the Dodge Challenger available with V6 and V8 powertrains. Nevertheless, somewhere down the line the retro-futuristic design and reasonable pricing lend an extra edge to the 2009 Ford Mustang against their old rivals, the 2010 Chevy Camaro and Pontiac Firebirds.

Alfa Romeo has unveiled a special Brera edition called the Brera "Italia Independent." This will be a limited edition series of 900 units that will go on sale first in Europe and then in Japan and Australia, beginning from Sept in Italy.

The car made its public debut in Porto Cervo, in Sardinia, Italy, late last week, and it will remain on display throughout the summer in the seaside resort town, at YOU, a new sushi restaurant and lounge bar overlooking the town square and the harbour.

Dark as the night ...

The vehicle is a joint venture development between Alfa Romeo and Italia Independent, a brand that operates within several goods sectors to package Italian style and innovation for a global vision; the company works innovatively with new materials, such as Kevlar, DuPont’s Cordura, Gore-Tex or carbon, teamed with fine fabrics and materials such as linen, Loro Piana cashmere or cellulose acetate to obtain new slants on classic products.

The Brera “Italia Independent” is the first standard-production car to offer opaque paintwork (titanium) across its entire body. This exterior feature is further enhanced by new 18-inch alloy wheels with an opaque black turbine pattern and other items such as an aluminium fuel cap, red-painted brake calipers and a new "Italia Independent" logo on the car's rear.

Inside, carbon fibre inserts are to be found on both the dashboard and steering wheel, which is finished in black leather with red top-stitching. Brushed aluminium plates, personalised with an “Italia Independent” logo on the front seat head restraints, as well as an instrument panel with round red frames, add to the unique item list.

It's the little things that'll remind you it's special.

Completing the picture is more aluminium, for the pedals and foot-rest, and the seat trim and door panels are finished in the deepest black shade possible; Poltrona Frau black leather upholstery with red top-stitching is available as an option.

The car will be available in 185bhp 2.2 JTS or 260bhp 3.2 V6 form, both combined with 6-speed gearboxes (according to the engine, these may be manual, Selespeed or automatic Q-Tronic). The new version can also come with sophisticated Q4 four-wheel drive, which is exclusive to the 3.2 V6 version.

Check it out from Mitsubishi

New from Mitsubishi

2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse & Spyder
$20,099 – $29,999
EPA Fuel Economy:
20 mpg city >>> 28 mpg hwy

Mitsubishi calls its sporty Eclipse an "attainable exotic." Okay, so calling it an exotic may be a little much, but that's not to say that this is one of the best-kept secrets in the mid-price sports-coupe genre. The Eclipse comes with two different engines: a 2.4-liter inline-4 and a V-6. Both powerplants feature Mitsubishi's MIVEC valve-timing technology that helps optimize efficiency and power across a broad rpm range. Also, you get the option to go top down with the Eclipse Spyder model. For 2009, the GT gets ASC (Active Stability Control) as standard equipment. It also gets high-intensity-discharge headlights and three new exterior color choices. The base Eclipse stays pretty much unchanged, but for right around $20,000, it's still a lot of car for the money.

Overview of BMW X3

Future release....Overview of BMW X3

...The 2010 BMW X3 will have a roof line slightly lower than the current model and will follow the X5’s steps by getting more round corners and a sportier look. The second generation X3 will be a more dynamic performance oriented Sports Activity Vehicle and it will have larger dimensions than the current model. It will measure 4.65 meters long, 1.85 meters wide and 1.68 meter tall, offering a more spacious cabin and cargo space than the current generation.

All the electronic gadgets seen in other recent BMW models will make their way into the 2010 X3 as well, starting with the Night Vision System, Head-Up Display and continuing with Adaptive Headlights. The interior design has been drastically improved, a much needed upgrade requested by the BMW fans.

Two petrol engines will be offered, along with four diesel choices. The petrol engines will most likely be the straight six 3- liter engine and the twin-turbo six that produces 306 hp. The top diesel engine will be same one found in the X5d or 335d sedan.

The new BMW X3 will be facing some tough competition from the Audi Q5 and Mercedes-Benz GLK. The base price is expected to be increased as well due to the introduction of the BMW X1.

Just an opinion between BMW (M5) and Jaguar (XFR)

Between BMW and Jaguar

...choosing between them difficult, as they feel like completely different cars. The BMW’s precision remains its key draw, the hooligan nature and the metallic fizz from its high-revving V10 never anything less than utterly intoxicating. It’s a physical, visceral machine that deserves its place among the great super saloons. The Jaguar is a more refined character, the linearity of its performance, the smoothness of its transmission and the suppleness of its ride diametrically opposed to the BMW’s edginess. In each there’s precision to the steering, clarity and decent weighting if an ultimate lack of decisive feel in each. Blame the sneeze factor at autobahn speeds for that. Inside, the BMW is feeling its age, the needless complexity of the gearshifter brought into sharp focus by the Jaguar’s simple pop-up and turn effort. In the time you’ve spent sub-menuing the BMW’s drivetrain to suit your preferences the XFR driver will be a good few miles up the road. Back-to-back, after a day of manoeuvring them for Max’s photography, a good few miles on some interestingly surfaced tarmac and the prospect of a 150 mile schlep home it’s the Jaguar’s keys I covet. It more relaxed gait, refinement and easily accessible, yet crushing, performance when you need it is in its favour. As is its ability to hang its tail out on any opportune, deserted roundabouts that break up the monotony of a long drive home. The M5 can play that game too, but it lacks the Jaguar’s quite mesmerising breadth of ability. The Jag is not just a serious contender for the old guard, but more than able to take the fight to the newcomers in the segment. And that’s a test we’re looking forward to.

The Nissan GT-R, A Fastest car

Take a look at Nissan GT-R - Recorded Fastest at Nordschleife, Germany

The 485-horsepower Nissan GT-R is already known for being one of the fastest production cars in the world. Seven minutes, 26.7 seconds was its last record lap time on the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in Germany, back in April 2009.
Now, the GT-R has set another important time. It is officially “the fastest four-seater production car in the world in terms of acceleration,” with a zero-to-100-kilometres-an-hour time of 3.5 seconds. Recorded during the lap time at the Nürburgring circuit, this result allowed Nissan to officially register the GT-R with Guinness World Records. The record-keeping company has now sanctioned the result.
